Come With Me to Buy Non-Toxic Products đźŚż

Because what you bring into your home becomes part of your body.

There was a time when I would walk down store aisles grabbing whatever smelled the “freshest.”

Lavender laundry detergent.
Vanilla air freshener.
“Clean linen” candles.

It felt clean.

Until I started reading the ingredients.

That’s when I realized something uncomfortable:
Most products marketed as “fresh” are loaded with synthetic fragrance, hormone disruptors, and ingredients companies don’t even have to fully disclose.

So now? I shop differently.

Today, I’m taking you with me.

⸻

Stop #1: Shampoo & Haircare

Your scalp absorbs what you put on it.

Many conventional shampoos contain:
    â€˘    Sulfates (harsh stripping agents)
â€˘    Synthetic fragrance (can hide dozens of undisclosed chemicals)
â€˘    Parabens (linked to hormone disruption)

What I look for instead:
âś” Sulfate-free
âś” Fragrance-free or naturally scented
âś” Short ingredient list

My Favorite Swaps:

Why it matters:
Healthy scalp = healthier hair growth + less inflammation + reduced toxin load over time.

⸻

Stop #2: Deodorant

Conventional deodorants often contain aluminum compounds that block sweat glands.

I personally prefer aluminum-free options that:
    â€˘    Support natural detox
â€˘    Allow the body to sweat (which is normal!)
â€˘    Use magnesium or baking soda instead

My Go-To:
â€˘    đꑉ Deodorant – Plastic-free Stick Sensitive Skin

Bonus: Many clean brands now last ALL day without harsh ingredients.

⸻

Stop #3: Laundry Aisle (The Most Overlooked)

This one shocked me the most.

Laundry detergent + dryer sheets coat your clothes in synthetic fragrance chemicals… and you wear those clothes all day.

I swapped to:
âś” Fragrance-free detergent
âś” Wool dryer balls instead of dryer sheets

What I Use:

Benefits:
    â€˘    Better indoor air quality
    â€˘    Less skin irritation
â€˘    No chemical residue on bedding or baby clothes

⸻

Stop #4: Candles & Air Fresheners

If it says “parfum” or “fragrance,” it’s often a blend of undisclosed chemicals.

Instead, I choose:
âś” Beeswax candles
âś” Soy candles with essential oils
âś” Essential oil diffuser (100% pure oils only)

My Favorites:

Cleaner burn = cleaner air.

Especially important if you have pets or children.

⸻

Stop #5: Cleaning Products

Many all-purpose sprays contain:
    â€˘    Phthalates
    â€˘    Ammonia
    â€˘    Harsh synthetic solvents

I look for:
âś” Plant-based formulas
âś” Transparent ingredient labels
âś” No artificial fragrance

My Trusted Picks:

    â€˘    đꑉ Glass Cleaner

Your kitchen counters shouldn’t require a hazmat suit.

⸻

Why This Matters More Than You Think

We don’t just “use” products.

We inhale them.
We absorb them.
We sleep on them.
We wear them.

Low-tox living isn’t about fear.

It’s about awareness.

It’s about reducing your overall chemical load in small, sustainable ways.

You don’t have to throw everything out overnight.

Start with:
1 swap per aisle.
1 product per month.
1 conscious decision at a time.

⸻

My Low-Tox Shopping Rule

If I can’t pronounce half the ingredients,
and the brand isn’t transparent about what “fragrance” means…

It doesn’t come home with me.

⸻

🌿 Final Thoughts
